Department Of Electronics And Communication Engineering

The Department of Electronics and communication engineering was established in the year 1996 with an intake of 60. Subsequently, the intake was increased to 90 in 2002-2003 and 120 in the year 2004 - 2005. The field of Electronics and Communication is one of the imperative branches in engineering. The department has a team of dedicated, talented, well qualified and experienced teaching faculty. The department has excellent facilities and has well defined laboratories with excellent state of art equipments and softwares related to the field of Engineering. The department has a computer lab with 60 workstations and two servers with all the required software and peripherals as per Anna University syllabus. The department also has qualified and dedicated supporting staff for our laboratories.

The department conducts national level technical symposium every year for students. It organizes faculty development programs, guest lectures, seminars, workshops, industrial visits to update the student's skills. We also encourage the students in the extra-curricular activities like Sports, Cultural etc.,

This course also covers a wide range of topics centered around radio based communications, radar systems. It has a long tradition of excellence in electromagnetism and its application and continues to exploit with a combination of fundamental and applied research. The topics covered range from antennas, through microwave circuits, radio-wave propagation, optics, networking and radar, to communications signal processing.

Job Opportunities

Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates find opportunities in the Terrestrial and extra terrestrial communication systems like telephones, cellular phones, television, optical fiber communication, consumer and entertainment devices where most of them need electronics. Electronics graduates find jobs in the space programs in Satellite communication etc.
