Engineers’ Day Celebration at Annai Mathammal Sheela Engineering College

Annai Mathammal Sheela Engineering College celebrated Engineers’ Day on September 15th to mark the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, the legendary engineer and statesman. The celebration was graced by the College Chairman, Sri. M. Mani, who delivered the keynote address. In his speech, he emphasized the vital role of engineers in shaping society and recalled the invaluable contributions of Sir M. Visvesvaraya to the nation. The College Principal, Dr. S. V. Suresh Babu, delivered the special address, highlighting the success stories of eminent engineers such as Sir M. Visvesvaraya, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Jamshedji Tata, J. R. D. Tata, Ratan Tata, Sundar Pichai, and Satya Nadella. He encouraged students to draw inspiration from these stalwarts, pursue engineering with passion, and constantly enhance their skills in emerging technologies. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. K. Velusamy, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Students from various departments actively participated in speech and quiz competitions, with winners receiving prizes. The program was well-coordinated by Mrs.K.Kavitha, Head of the Department of Computer Science, who also proposed the vote of thanks. The celebration served as a platform to inspire budding engineers to innovate, contribute to society, and uphold the legacy of great visionaries.
